Here are a few more photos from my recent trip to Belgium, this is a 1950s style swing coat made from a really gorgeous vintage fabric from my stash. It’s 100% wool, I’m guessing this fabric is 1960s- ish. It’s woven as a diamond pattern, not squares and it’s a really vibrant blue and green. I only have a small piece of this fabric, if I had more I would definitely make something for myself!
I accessorised the coat with a little pill box hat and a tiny diamond brooch, I adore costume jewellery and brooches seem to have lost favour, that is such a pity! It really adds the finishing touch.
Isn’t this Ghent door great? The colour combination and design are beautiful! I thought the coat really complimented the colours and pattern.
Till next time,
x

Nice Job on the outfit! Those are really good pictures too.
Thank you!!
gorgeous, trying to remember that rhyme , blue and green should never been seen unless there is …… In between ? Rubbish clearly hahaha.
Blue and green should never be seen…except on redheads!
Oh wow, I LOVE that fabric! The coat is such a great shape as well… I’d absolutely wear a person-sized version of this!
Thank you! If only I had more of this fabric *sigh* – it’s really beautiful.
