New Year, new holiday plans….I’m already dreaming of a summer trip. Oh for a chance to go back to Venice! I wanted to share some more snaps from my recent visit, there was so much to take in over such a short time, but we did try!
When we first arrived we thought going for a gondola ride would be too touristy….but we changed our minds very quickly and we couldn’t wait to go for a trip! So we went on the evening tour, with opera singer accompaniment, cheesy I know, but worth every penny. The sights and sounds as you drift around the canals and under the bridges are unforgettable.
There are plenty of palaces and churches that you must see – don’t dare miss St Mark’s Basilica or the Doges Palace.
There is a fantastic tour that takes you over the Bridge of Sighs , see the view the prisoners would have had …….
….on route to their prison cell……
All this sightseeing needed something suitably chic, this little frock is made in the finest vintage blush pink raw silk, with a darted, fitted bodice and tiny pleats on the straight skirt, all accented with black bow detail and belt. I love dusky pink and black together, so pretty!
Part of the fun in exploring Venice is getting lost and finding wonderful cafes and restaurants…..
Time to dress for dinner in a pretty cream fitted dress with gold belt and pearl brooch, perfect for dining out by the beautiful canals.
