Vintage Barbie Beachwear

We’ve had such a fabulous summer here in Ireland so beachwear has been on my mind…….. well, not for me, but specifically dolls clothes!! (Although I would like to make this swimsuit in my size too!) This vintage Barbie swimsuit was designed and created for her holiday to the sun, on the beautiful beaches at Lisbon, Portugal.

What better way for Barbie to dress for the sun than in a swimsuit AND matching coverup skirt.

This vintage Barbie outfit is made from a soft blue cotton with a tiny cream star print. It’s a one piece swimsuit and a half circle skirt.

The swimsuit is fitted with a panelled bodice with a sweetheart neckline, emphasised with v-neck straps and a tiny bow. The swimsuit and skirt are fully lined too, for a proper finish.

Of course it’s ok to wear pearls to the beach.

Yep, Barbie doll clothes are SMALL. The Dinah’s Dolls Atelier is usually filled with tiny patterns and tiny haberdashery all neatly stored but if a button falls on the floor, oh dear. That can take a while to find!
