Belgian Luxe

I’ve been quiet on the blogging front for a while as I’ve been away quite a lot. I know, I know, poor me, huh?! So…. time for me to catch up and share some holiday snaps and some new frocks!  First stop is Belgium, one of my favourite weekend destinations, it has everything you need: delicious food, great beer, fabulous chocolate and amazing shopping!

My newest outfit is an off white vintage silk suit. I’ve wanted to do a Lana Turner style fun fur stole with an outfit for a while so I thought this would be the perfect location for the 1940s inspired suit, turban and wrap.

It’s actually a one piece but I made it to look like a two piece. Tight straight skirt, fitted bodice, bracelet length sleeves, peplum and belt, with a pearl buckle. The wrap is made from some fun fur lined with velvet, and then the look is topped off with a Lana Turner style turban headpiece.

These shots were taken in Leuven, in the Groot Begijnhof, set up in the 13th Century for semi religious unmarried women, it’s like a small village in the middle of Leuven, now owned by the University and used for housing students and academics. Lovingly restored, it’s beautiful place to roam around.

Au Revoir!

  1. Great outfit, great setting! We actually used to have a turban a little like this in our dressing-up box at home… Suffice to say I never looked as glamorous in it as Barbie does 😆
