Last Days of Summer

As the Autumn arrives with cold and windy days I thought I’d try and lift the mood and share some snaps of a bright summer dress taken on my summer holidays! This is a 1950s inspired cotton frock, fitted bodice with pin tucks and yellow buttons, belt and full gathered skirt with petticoat for that extra kick. The fabric is an original 60s cotton floral print but it works so well, doesn’t it?

We were driving the Wild Atlantic Way and stopped at the Burren for a look at the fantastic landscape. It was a bit of a grey day so the yellow frock was a nice shot of colour.

The pattern of the stones used in the wall construction is pretty amazing too, it’s made without any mortar, the stones are stacked neatly together.

Further along the coast we took the turn for Achill Island, this shot was taken overlooking Keel Bay. It is a breathtakingly beautiful island, I absolutely recommend it. It’s just stunning.

At last, sunshine!! Killaloe was bright and sunny and a fitting place to stop for coffee and a cake. We had a nice pit stop here on the way home.

See you anon!
